Green tea from Kagoshima, South Japan
Made mostly from high quality stems and leaves left after processing of the first picking in April. In Japan, it is called "Shiraore", its taste is slightly sweet, its liquor is of grass-green colour and fresh green aroma. As it contains less caffeine, Kukicha is suitable for evening drinking.
Light green leaves with a typical shape of tiny straight twigs and an intense sweet, slightly peppery and citrus aroma. Light, slightly milky green in a cup with a delicate, sweet rounded flavour with fresh citrus tones, a hint of green pepper and white chocolate.
Preparation: Allow 3 teaspoons (15 g) of tea for 1l of boiled water, cooled down to 70°C, steep for 40 seconds. For second infusion, cool the water down to 70°C, steep for only 10 seconds. You can prepare third and further infusions in a similar way.
