Damian's pieces are fully functional as tea ware. However, they are often very distinctive and not entirely easy to "master". You need to find your own way with each piece and literally tame it. Find the ideal way to hold the teapot or bowl, the right angle for pouring, where to place the lid, and so on. These are not universal pieces where everything fits in every position. However, you will be rewarded with constantly new perspectives and things that you will never tire of looking at.
