Delicate cherry wood is one of my favourites. It is firm, shiny in sections, relatively hard and dense. Subjectively it is a “feminine wood”. Its colours range from the shades of pink to orange, sometimes you encounter even greenish tones − in trunks that had lain in damp places. It has light, creamy sapwood under its bark. Pretty wild colours and patterns are found in wild cherry. My trays are made of cherry wood that grew in South Bohemia − a stone’s throw from České Budějovice.
